Amara Sillah

Amara Sillah (he/him/his) is a Baltimorean through and through and is eager to join the Baltimore’s Promise Community Advisory Board as he is passionate about increasing opportunities for youth in Baltimore. He strongly believes that youth in our city haven’t been properly invested in and he is eager to be part of a group that works towards changing that.

Amara began his career as a high school government teacher and now works to support alumni educators through his work with Teach For America. He holds a Masters in Nonprofit Management & Social Entrepreneurship from the University of Baltimore. He is passionate about education, opportunities for youth, and the betterment of Baltimore through non-profit collaboration. Needless to say, he is excited about the opportunity to merge all of his interests and talents in his work with Baltimore’s Promise.

That Baltimore is a city with a deep sense of pride and community and neighbors who truly care for and look out for each other.
