Billie Sun, a Maryland native who believes in using data to take equity-driven systems change from idea to action, is a Data Analyst at Baltimore’s Promise. Prior to joining Baltimore’s Promise in 2021, Billie worked as a Data Fellow for the Mayor’s Office of Performance & Innovation where she developed public accountability tools for Baltimore City’s 911 Behavioral Health Diversion program, a pilot program working to connect people undergoing crisis with mental health professionals instead of police officers.

Billie holds a Master's degree in Information Science and a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics and Economics from Cornell University. She first began her movement work with Unbroken Promise Initiative, a grassroots community development and racial justice nonprofit that she continues to volunteer closely with. She also plays the chimes, so she's kind of a heavy metal musician.
